WHAT ABOUT FOOD?

All breakfast, lunches and dinners are included. Food is an important part of European life and our guides' knowledge of the local area and cuisine will mean dinner may not necessarily be at the hotel. Each town has its exceptional restaurants that provide the most delicious regional cooking for you to experience.

The guides have an excellent knowledge of the premium regional wines and will be able to guide you through choosing from the superb varieties available, while on tour. Wine and other alcohol with dinner is an additional charge. Guests may choose to contribute to a wine fund, arranged at the start of each tour. The amount will depend on the length of the tour, wine prices of the region and how much is imbibed!

If you choose not to join the Wine Kitty, you can buy your own alcoholic drinks each night. You will be responsible for keeping track of the bill and should be prepared to pay in cash each night for the beverages you drink.

During each day's ride we provide, depending on the region and availability, fresh fruit, sweet and salted snacks, food supplements and isotonic powders and of course, water. If you have specific needs, please let us know and we will advise whether we can assist or if you should bring your own.

I HAVE AN ALLERGY TO FOOD / MEDICINE

That is no problem. Just let us know the details when booking and we will accommodate your requirements on tour.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP GUIDES AND OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS?

Tips are greatly appreciated by the guides. It is entirely at your discretion but guests usually leave between €100 - €200 per guide, on occasion more if guides have gone above and beyond. Typically tips are given at the end of the trip to thank guides for their exceptional service and expertise. There is no need to tip wait staff in the restaurants we go to or other service providers as we will take care of this.

HOW MUCH SPENDING MONEY SHOULD I BRING?

That’s a very personal decision. On a daily basis you will need enough spending money for coffee, extra snacks and personal shopping. Alcohol is not included, so you may choose to join our wine kitty and share the wine and drinks we order at dinner. Depending on your style of travel, expect to spend about €20-€50 per day.

HOW ABOUT INTERNET AND WIFI?

All our selected hotels have WiFi services. Access speeds and fees vary from hotel to hotel. Connectivity in some locations such as the mountains can be unreliable. And we have a free wifi service in the van.

Every tour has a minimum of two guides – one riding with the group and one in the support vehicle. The support vehicle is at your service. Whether it is carrying spare clothes, walking shoes for a lunchtime stroll through town, bathers for a swim before lunch, or to give weary legs a rest, it will never be far away. Your ‘guide angels’ will sweep the road, checking on the progress of the whole peloton, as well as setting up refreshment stops and transferring your luggage. We carry a comprehensive stock of spare equipment and tools, spare wheels and tubes in the support vehicle, and at least one of the guides on any Tour is a qualified bike mechanic.
