HIGHLIGHTS

Following the resounding success of the inaugural edition of the Mavic Haute Route Rockies, the second edition is set to take place in June 2019! The third edition will run over seven days from June 23rd to June 29th in Colorado, the heartland of American cycling. The seven timed and ranked stages will once again include high altitude passes, beautiful panoramas across the vast Colorado plains and iconic hardpack dirt roads.

Don’t worry! The hardpack dirt roads are safe and manageable with a standard road bike with 25mm tyres and any section of dirt road will be memorable.

Boulder will serve as the official start city of the seven-day event, which includes visits to Winter Park, Avon, Breckenridge and Colorado Springs, Olympic City USA, before taking riders up an epic climb over 14,000 feet to the summit of Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain, one of the most famous summits in the United States.

The OMR crew is ready each day to give our “team” the full Pro Tour service and experience.  You’ll find your bike ready each morning, drink bottles ready refilled as you like them, Massage after each stage and a freshly laundered riding kit for every day.

Additionally we provide nutritional guidance and supplements and will be present at strategic locations for refueling and kit drops zones during the race. We will give you daily route wraps and guidance and personalized ride strategy. You will truly feel like a Pro when we sit down together for an organized dinner and discuss tactics for the following day. Our objective is leave all the logistic to us so you can concentrate fully on the day’s ride ahead! We also offer an acclimatization tour before the race to get used to the high Altitude.

Whatever your objectives are for the Haute Route, it is the ultimate challenge for any rider who takes their riding seriously. One to definitely have on your bucket list!

MORE ABOUT THE TERRAIN AND ACCLIMATIZATION TOUR

Discover hardpack dirt roads, wild country and long climbs on the Haute Route Rockies. Serving up a good helping of the best of the Rockies, this 7-day event is a challenge designed for cycling enthusiasts from across the globe.

Altitude will effect most of riders performance, that’s why we recommend to arrive few day earlier to acclimatize to the different conditions. If you wish to enjoy the week of racing from the very first day, you better allow time for your body to acclimatize at this high altitude for few days. There is no need to train hard, just tapering as you normally do before a race like this but doing it at the same altitude as the race course.

The tour will involve some riding and recovering, exactly the way all pro’s do it!

As the main activity will be the morning ride, you will have plenty of time to relax in the afternoon.

ON REQUEST, NOT INCLUDED

  • Haute Route registration fee (+€ 1750 approx)

  • Acclimatization tour: see above

  • Single room

  • Personal airport transfer

  • Alcoholic drinks
